Spectroelectrochemistry combines the techniques of electrochemistry and spectroscopy. In a specially designed electrochemical cell a redox active sample is oxidized or reduced. The spectroelectrochemical technique allows in-situ spectroscopic study of the electrogenerated products or following chemical reactions providing insight into the structure of intermediate species.
